Lanky lefthander, Ben Marsh, kept the Brewers in the game until their bats woke up and they scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning as they completed the doubleheader sweep of the Wildcats.  Marsh allowed just four hits to the scraooy Kentville hitters who scratched out three early runs before the Metro squad rallied with RBI safeties from Jack Volpe, Chase Brown and Nick MacFarlane wrapped it up in the sixth inning.  Marsh went out in the seventh and got the first out before allowing a Colby Turple single and a walk to Dryden Schofield, forcing the Brewers to remove him for righthander, Garrett Windsor, who closed it out.

Veteran righthander, Criag Field, was in control from the opening pitch as he fired a complete game three-hit shutout leading the Halifax Pelham Molson Canadians past the Metro Golf Central Brewers , 5-0.  Josh Pelham paced the offense with a double, RBI single and two runs scored.  Cam Ritcey chipped in a pair of singles and drove home a run, while Ryan O'Toole socked an RBI double.  Righthander, Garrett Windsor, was the hardluck loser for the Brewers as he allowed 8 hits and only 3 earned runs.

Game Notes:

Runs came early and often for the Kentville Wildcats as they’ve defeated the U17 Selects 11-1. Eight runs in the first two innings led the Wildcarts to victory. Caleb Medicraft went the distance as he pitched a complete game with seven strikeouts. The Wildcats had 3 RBI games from both Dryden Schofield and Jeff Longaphy. Doug Hassel and Brett McGinnis also contributed multiple hits. Aidan Webb drove in the only run for the U17 Selects. Aside from the score, the U17s put up quite the fight as they prepare for Nationals later this summer

Game Notes - the Halifax Pelham Molson Canadians got the jump on the visiting Sydney Sooners in the opening game of a Saturday twinbill as they banged out 14 hits en route to a 10-0 whitewash.  As good as the offence was, arguably, the story of the game was the solid pitching of righthander, Cam Ritcey who fired a complete game, three-hit shutout at the Sooners including eight strikeouts. - Cecil Wright

Game NotesThe Metro Golf Central Brewers earned their first NSSBL win with stellar pitching and tight defense as they edged the Kentville Wildcats on a chilly night at Mainland Common.  Righthander, Ryan Abraham took a no-hitter into the sixth inning before the scrappy Wildcats broke it up with a pair of safeties.  Righthander, Jonathan Lander came on in relief and nabbed the save.  Nick MacFarlane belted a sixth inning double to drive in Ben Rittenberg with what would prove to be the winning run. - Cecil Wright

The Metro Golf Central Brewers played the game with heavy hearts, with the recent passing of their title sponsor  fresh on their minds.  In a game where they could've easily folded the tent, they hung in there and weathered the Wikdcat comeback before walking them off thanks to a throwing error in the 7th inning.  Righthander, Griffin Smith, earned the win by firing three scoreless innings in relief of Chris Stackhouse.Shortstop, Jarrett Dinn led the way offensively as he reached base four times and knocking in a pair while Ryan Abraham alsi knocked in two with a pair of hits. Dyden Schofield paced Kentville with a double, single and three RBI, while Colby  Turple smacked a two-run single.

Game Notes:

A hot start by the Metro Brewers turned out to be the difference as a Mike Short three run home run led the Brewers to victory. The Brewers were led by a strong pitching performance from Chris Stackhouse along with hot bats from Matt Stackhouse and Bryce Davis. The Wildcats made a late game push with a five run sixth inning, but it was too little too late as the Brewers hung on. The Wildcats were led by a Brett McGinnis three run double. The Wildcats and Brewers will meet once again on August 7th at Memorial Park in Kentville.
